IMAGES OF COMPLETE MODEL, SECTIONS, AND PROGRESS

Let us start with my first model which was developed for a section sketch called the 'redeemer', but back then I did not get the right idea for this assignment. For more information on this model please refer to my first-week class work.

Then I switched my client and developed a new model, with a rectangular underground space.

I then further developed my model based on the feedback from my tutor, also added a terrain to make the model more interesting.

Here are a series of images of my current, developed model.

The second sets of stairs are developed to connect the underground basement to the above ground section.

updated sketch on current model

Here is my reverse engineered sketch for my current model, it consists of 3 parts, up, middle and underground. The upper section is set to be a lookout and an open area that serves as a workshop for Gucci.
The middle section is a joint display space with two different levels, one for Gucci one for CJ Hendry. It is inspired by the Gucci stud earrings, it also consists the same metallic texture of CJ's drawing.

The underground part is set to be the workshop for CJ Hendry, its shaped like an ellipse because her metallic logo is in the shape of an ellipse.

EXP.1. Client Inspiration

Gucci
The red background and black shoes demonstrate a contrast. The Swarovski crystal butterfly decoration on the high heeled shoes displays a sense of fragileness.

CJ Hendry
Catherine Jenna Hendry is a contemporary Australian artist known for hyper-realistic, large-scale renderings of luxury objects using a self-developed scribbling technique. in a series of her works, she painted some objects that we normally associate with soft, fluffy, bouncy in a hard metallic texture, which has given her creative work an extra edge.

EXP.1. Creative works in the past

Before coming to this course, I have always been interested in drawing and building stuff.
Here are some drawings I have done in the past:
This is a drawing of a lotus on my bathroom wall, at home.
They are not great but it is my creative work to some extend
 Drawing No.2

In my spare time, I also enjoy cooking, I believe food is a form of art.
The picture shows Tasmanian prawn with garlic and chives I have cooked for my families during Chinese New Year.

The Picture below shows one of my favourate architecture, and it is designed by one of the most influential architects of the 20th century, Oscar Niemeyer, he is considered one of the key figures in the development of modern architecture. Niemeyer was best known for his design of civic buildings for Brasília, a planned city that became Brazil’s capital in 1960, as well as his collaboration with other architects on the Headquarters of the United Nations in New York City. Famous for his use of abstract forms and curves, Niemeyer designed a number of buildings all over Brazil including his masterpieces such as the Brazilian National Museum, Natal City Park Tower, and The Niteroi Contemporary Art Museum. I hope to visit his work one day.

WEEK 1 Independent Study

For independent studies, a Sketchup Model was created from section sketch -- 'redeemer'.
